The third and fourth strings have a wound string core at tungsten. The third string offers depth and a greater volume of sound. The fourth has a powerful open sound, vibrates freely and offers enormous possibilities. The whole ensemble itself offers great brightness based on a warm core sound. These strings offer excellent responsiveness and control. The three tension design results in distinctive sound differences between them, with the tension having the brightest sound and considerably higher volume than the other two tensions. They possess exceptional tuning stability. They are also suitable for electric or electrically amplified cellos.
