The Aquila 88HR string is made of gut with a semi-rectified surface, imitating the historical hand polishing technique. Thanks to this, the life of the string is extended, it has great resistance to climatic changes, and a higher acoustic performance.

With this method, the amount of fibers damaged by the abrasive action is significantly reduced compared to ropes ground by modern procedures.
