- Pirastro Chorda cello strings generate a bright and smooth sound with enormous possibilities. The strings have a very low tension, and give a great feeling of comfort in the left hand. They are designed for tuning at 440 Hz at medium tension, and at 415 Hz for heavy tension. Modifying the gauge by 1/2 PM changes the string tension by 4%. These are authentic strings and ideal for baroque instruments.
