The Bender brass nut can improve the sound of the cello because it weighs more than the standard aluminium clamping nut. The additional weight interacts with the vibration of the strings connected to the endbutton.
If the cello endpin rod can be removed, the Bender aluminium nut can easily be unscrewed and replaced with the brass nut. If the endpin rod is secured at its inner end, consult your violin maker.
