Vincent à Lyon bows are crafted by the prestigious J. F. Daber atelier, founded in 1981 by expert violinist Jean Schmitt, and today recognized as a world leader in the making of high-end French bows. It is built from Pernambuco wood, the natural material that provides the mechanical and acoustic properties required to achieve a higher-quality bow.
This workshop carefully selects from different varieties of Pernambuco according to the functional, mechanical, and acoustic properties that meet its manufacturing standards. In this way, for each client, they are able to implement the wood that best suits their concept of sound and playing style, helping every musician shape the sound they imagine and bring out the finest acoustic qualities of their instrument.
