The Gliga Gems II Antiqued cello has been handcrafted in Romania using woods from the Carpathian Mountains, where Antonio Stradivari is known to have selected some of the woods he used for his instruments.
Gliga makes all its instruments by hand, from the initial hollowing out of the wood to the final finish, mainly using oil varnishes applied in thin layers to achieve excellent transparency. The final antiqued finish gives the instrument a warm appearance.
