Spain's Ministry of Culture has launched the Bono Cultural Joven 2026, a cultural grant for young people turning 18 in 2026.
For the first time, recipients can use the entire grant to purchase musical instruments. Cultural courses and art materials are also eligible, creating an excellent opportunity for musical instrument shops to welcome new young customers.
Since 22 June, people born in 2008 have been able to apply for this grant, choosing between two options for the first time:
Option 1: The entire grant can be used for a single category, chosen from cultural courses and workshops (in person or online), musical instruments, or creative tools and art materials.
Option 2: The grant can be split across these areas:
- Live and audiovisual arts, cultural heritage, creative tools and art materials: tickets and passes for performing arts, live music, cinema, museums, Spanish historical heritage sites, libraries, exhibitions, in-person cultural courses, performing arts, literary, music or audiovisual festivals, musical instruments, sheet music, cameras and software specifically designed for production and creative practice.
- Physical cultural products: books, magazines, newspapers and other periodicals, video games, vinyl records and CDs.
- Digital or online cultural content: subscriptions to music, reading, audiobook or audiovisual platforms; purchases of audiobooks, e-books, songs or digital albums through music sales platforms; subscriptions to download multimedia files (including podcasts); online cultural courses; and digital subscriptions to newspapers, magazines and other periodicals.
To apply for the Bono Cultural Joven 2026, young people who have turned or will turn 18 this year must register and complete the application process at bonoculturajoven.gob.es by 31 October 2026.
