The Gliga Gems II viola has been handcrafted in Romania with woods coming from the Carpathian Mountains, where it is known that Antonio Stradivari chose some of the woods used for his instruments.
Gliga manufactures all his instruments by hand, from carving the woods to the final touch, using mostly oil varnishes in thin layers until a great transparency is achieved. The final antiqued finish brings a great warmth to the appearance of the instrument.
The strength and precision of the sound makes this model suitable for intensive use in music schools for intermediate level students.
