The Antonio Wang Siracusa antiqued Maggini model viola is made in the traditional style of Giovanni Paolo Maggini’s school, using selected maple and spruce dried for years to ensure the instrument’s best performance.
This distinctive viola features Maggini’s characteristic f-holes and double purfling on the top and back.
Every step of the construction process is carefully supervised. In addition to checking the weight of each piece and measuring the thickness of the back and top to ensure that every area has the correct thickness to produce all the desired tones and harmonics, particular attention is paid to the arching of the top and back.
All instruments come finished and ready to play, with the bridge, soundpost and pegs fitted to each instrument’s particular characteristics.
A viola with excellent resonance and tonal power.
